TVHC Goes Live With Epic

Why did TVHC switch to Epic?

Improved Access to Care for our Patients.

Patients can schedule their own appointments through MyChart, check lab results on their phone, and stay more connected with providers.

Epic Facts

Over 45 percent of the US population has a medical record in Epic.

And over 250 million patients worldwide have a current electronic record in an Epic system.

Epic is used by our nation's leading health care providers including Kaiser Permanente and Sutter Health.

In fact, all of the top 20 hospitals in the 2018-19 U.S. News & World Report use Epic, including Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Stanford Hospital.

The Epic patient portal, MyChart, gives patients secure access to their medical records on demand.

MyChart also allows patients to schedule appointments, access test results, request a refill for a prescription and more.

Epic keeps all patient medical records in one place.

Clinicians are able to view a patient’s full medical history, including care from other health centers and hospitals, helping providers make better decisions.

Favorite Epic feature of TVHC staff?

A streamlined process.

My favorite feature is being able to reschedule appointments and having all information transfer over, as well as being able to schedule follow up visits before checking out a patient, all from one screen.

Epic’s best feature is being able to interface with multiple patients’ charts at once when searching for information for a provider. This feature will help nurses and providers during triage or quick search.
