David B. Vliet, MBA, Chief Executive Officer
Mr. David B. Vliet, BHA, MBA, came to the East Bay Area by way Austin, TX, in 2012 with more than 19 years of experience in practice management and health services administration to join Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center as Chief Executive Officer.
For 10 years prior to joining TVHC, he served as the CEO of Central Texas Community Health Centers, Inc.), a Federally Qualified Health Center managed 22 delivery sites, over 500 employees, and oversaw a $65 million budget. He also initially served as Chief Operating Officer for the Centers for 3 years, leading the significant expansion of the organization and implementation of the practice’s Electronic Health Record and Electronic Practice Management systems and overhauling operations during his tenure.
Mr. Vliet also worked as a practice administrator for the renowned Alfred I. DuPont Nemours Children’s Clinic, Orlando, FL, a multi-pediatric specialty practice, with operational responsibility for 18 medical and surgical divisions. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He currently serves on various local boards – as current chair for the Community Health Center Network (CHCN), a partnership of Alameda county based community health centers and A Better Way, Inc., a nonprofit serving foster children and their families – as well as state and national boards of directors – California Representative to the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Board of Directors, CPCA Board of Directors, the National Cooperative Bank (NCB) and Capital Impact Partners, a national financial institution that provides banking and financial services to cooperatives and community based organizations, Health Outreach Partners, Inc. (HOP) and Bay Area Chapter of the American Heart Association. He also served on the National Association of Community Health Center (NACHC) Board for 3 years and returns for a new term in the fall of 2017 as well as currently serving a three-year term on the Board of Governors for the Alameda Alliance for Health.
David is married to Isabel Dominguez-Vliet. He is an avid jazz, blues, and contemporary gospel pianist and often performs locally.
