Nancy Soto, President
Nancy Soto has been on the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center Board (TVHC) since 1998. She currently serves on the Nominating and Personnel Committees of the Board and has served as the Chairperson of the Sustainability Committee. Nancy is the Director of the Trade Adjustment Assistance, Community College Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program at Chabot College. Previous positions Nancy has held at Chabot College were: Director of Student Life and Early Childhood Development and Professional Development Coordinator, as well as an Early Childhood faculty. Nancy has worked in the field of Early Childhood for over 25 years and most recent has 7 years in the field of Work Force Development.
Her career field has varied from managing and directing non-profit early childhood programs to the development and implementation of grant programs. She has an extensive background in both teaching and training. Nancy holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Education with an option in ECD Curriculum Development and a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Science. In addition she holds Certificates in: “Training of Trainers” (Cal. State East Bay), Anger Management Facilitator (Anderson & Anderson) and Small Claims Court Mediation (Livermore Courts).
Nancy is also past President of the American Cancer Society Board and committee member. She has been an active mentor with the Chabot College’s Puente Program since 1985 and has also served as Co-Committee Chairperson and Council Member.
Nancy enjoys assisting others in exploring their potential and advocacy for those under-represented. She believes strongly that access to quality health care is a “right” and not a “privilege” and that TVHC provides those opportunities to all community members.
Minyon Corcuchia-Garde, Vice President
Minyon is currently the Board's Vice President and Chair of the Personnel Committee. Outside of board service, Minyon acts as the Youth Employment Coordinator and Business Service Developer for Chabot College. She is currently pursuing a double major in Cell and Molecular Biology and Health Education with an emphasis in Public Health and a minor Holistic Health at San Francisco State University. Minyon is a former Americorps member, completing over 1600 volunteer hours of case management, health education courses, employment readiness training and job placement to at-risk youth ages 15-24. In her own words, her service on TVHC's board is her "commitment to public health to ensure that our community is well equipped with innovative and quality medical professionals as partners in sustaining optimal health."
Jesse Robles, Second Vice President
Jonathan Pettey is from San Francisco, CA and has lived in Union City, CA for 6 years. He attends the University of San Francisco, where he is completing a doctorate degree in Organization and Leadership. Mr. Pettey has worked for the American Red Cross and the San Francisco Fire Department. He has been affiliated with the Alameda County Hep B Free Campaign and the Union City Human Relations Commission. Mr. Pettey joined the TVHC Board of Directors to become involved with providing quality healthcare to local residents.

Maria Sabado joined the Board of Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center in August 2011. Maria has been employed at Kaiser Permanente in Hayward, CA since 1982, and has worked there as a Nurse Practitioner in Pregnancy and in Pregnancy Choices from 1996 to the present. Maria is also a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She believes in the importance and value of giving back to the community through volunteering
